Indigenous hip-hop artist Jack Sinclair (Bronson Pelletier) and his best friend Zoey Jones (multiple Gemini Award winner Ksenia Solo) established an underground ezine called renegadepress.com. What starts as a pet project soon takes on a life of its own, pushing Jack, Zoey and their crew of renegade reporters to deliver the goods on what’s really going on in the lives of today’s teens. Ripped from the headlines, the series’ storylines are inspired by events experienced by today’s youth.

A new edition of the renegadperess.com ezine was published via the internet to coincide with each episode of the television broadcast. This online extension allowed viewers to become actively involved in creating a community in which they can share their thoughts with other interested teens. The website also dug deeper by encouraging participants to post questions related to some of the toughest issues faced by youth today. The renegadepress.com characters answered these questions with honesty and integrity. It was a safe environment to ask the tough questions and an important first step to reaching out when teen life feels overwhelming.
